About AV Technik:
Welcome and thank you for spending some time here at AV Technik online. My interest and passion in all things "equipment" started at a very young age. Educating myself in the earlier years and making sure I was always as close to what I felt was the right place at the right time eventually panned out. Following graduation from the University of Rochester and Eastman School of Music, at age 21 I landed a house engineering position at the world famous Irving Plaza in New York City (now the Fillmore East NYC). At Irving Plaza I had the honor of working with such artists as Willie Nelson, Ricky Martin, 311 and the Red Hot Chili Peppers to name a few.
After a short amount of time I was recommended by some industry folks for a position with Sony Records (which I gladly accepted). Over the next 3 years I lived in airplanes, tour buses and hotels from Europe to Africa to Australia and all over the United States. I worked for many different artists as a tour manager, production manager and chief sound engineer. Although I was enjoying a great run with Sony, I decided it was time for a change. So with a somewhat broken back from those not-so-comfy tour bus bunks, I returned to my home state of Maine for what would be the next chapter. After being back home for only a short amount of time and with 10 years' experience as a professional in the audiovisual business, I decided that Maine needed an alternative to its then current offerings. I established AV Technik with a few basic principles in mind:
So again, I sincerely appreciate your visit and your time. Feel free to call - we look forward to talking with you.
Best regards,
Daniel Willis
